Jason Barnard
Owner, Managing Partner
After operating his own business for 10 years (2005–15), Jason joined forces with Michael Gervais in 2016 and Barnard & Gervais, LLC was formed. Jason has been in the wastewater system design, permitting and environmental consulting industry since 1997 and brings twenty years of experience with a focus on water and wastewater disposal system designs, state and local permitting, Act 250 land use permitting and environmental consulting.
Jason graduated from Lyndon State College in 1997 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science and obtained his State of Vermont Designers License in 1998.

Michael Gervais
Owner, Managing Partner
Michael operated his own land surveying business for 7 years and in 2016 partnered with Jason Barnard to form Barnard & Gervais, LLC. He has worked in the land surveying industry for over 15 years specializing in boundary surveying and subdivisions.
Michael holds an Associates degree in Applied Science and Surveying Technologies with a Minor in Forestry from Paul Smith’s College. He received his license to practice land surveying in 2007 and obtained his Class A & B Licensed Designer certification with the State of Vermont Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) in 2008. Michael currently serves as Chair of the Enosburg Falls Planning Commission.

Andrew Paradee
Senior Survey Technician
Andrew has over 10 years of land surveying experience and joined Northern Land Surveying, (now B&G) in July 2014. He is a graduate of the University of Maine and Vermont Technical College with a Bachelor of Science in Surveying Engineering Technology and an Associates of Science in Civil & Environmental Engineering Technology.
At B&G, Andrew conducts and manages a variety of survey projects, including record research, field measurement, reconnaissance, and drafting.

Court Veeder
Survey Technician/Draftsman
Court joined Barnard & Gervais in March 2016 as a Survey Technician. He is a graduate of White Mountains Community College with an Associate’s degree in Surveying Technology. He is licensed as a Class A wastewater designer, and is currently active with surveying, drafting of survey plats, and wastewater design plans.

Cliff Stark
Draftsman / Survey Technician
Cliff joined Jason Barnard Consulting (now B&G) in May 2015 as a Draftsman. He brings 30+ years of drafting and CAD experience. His duties include, but are not limited to, design drafting of wastewater site plans and details, Act 250 and wastewater permit applications, topographical surveying and site inspections.
Cliff enjoys motorcycles and driving a team of draft horses at a local tree farm during the Christmas tree season.

Dawn Mikkelsen
Administrative Assistant
Dawn joined Barnard & Gervais in January 2017 and brings 20+ years of customer service experience to her Administrative Assistant role. She performs a wide range of administrative and office support functions to facilitate the efficient operation of the company, including data entry, processing permit application documents, database management and assisting in the process of monthly invoicing.
She graduated from Franklin Pierce University in 1998 with a B.S. in Marketing. In her free time, Dawn loves volunteering at her son’s school and currently serves as her town’s Green Up Day Coordinator.

Survey Technician
Dylan Joined Barnard & Gervais in the fall of 2015 as a Survey Technician. With a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science from Johnson State College,
Dylan is most active as a member of the field crew, performing boundary surveys, construction stakeouts, and topography for septic design. He has also completed the 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER training.

Rob Goodwin
Senior Survey Technician
Rob joined Barnard & Gervais in February of 2017 to manage and grow the Land Surveying services provided by the Hinesburg office. Since joining the Barnard & Gervais team, Rob has completed several boundary surveys and small subdivisions projects. In addition to boundary survey work, Rob has also provided construction stakeout services for a variety of municipal and commercial projects.
He graduated from the University of Maine with a B.S. in Surveying Engineering Technology in 2009 and grew up in the heart of the Adirondack Mountains just across Lake Champlain. Rob is a Land Surveyor in training and is pursuing Professional Land Surveyor licensure in the State of Vermont.

Draftsman
Scott brings more than 20 years of experience from a diverse background in engineering, architecture, and planning & zoning. His primary role is to prepare project site plans & details, and to submit state permit applications.
Outside the office, Scott devotes his time to coaching youth ice hockey and football, and relaxing on Lake Champlain.
